Plug In

Does anyone know how I can use wordpress without using the stats page.? The banner is bothering me, especially since I didn’t have a say in putting it there.

Unanswered questions & then my post was removed. The sooner we resolve the matter the quicker we can move on.

I need a plug in to remove the banner please, this time I asked nicely. Stop closing topics that are unresolved.

Happiness engineers find a way to fix it & stop giving me the automated messages. That link is not working for me.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Vanessa, if you start self-hosting your blog using WordPress.org you can use any stats you want.

If you already do it, look at WP Power Stats.

And this is a support issue so the thread shouldn’t be closed or removed.

  • The rainbow banner question has already been answered. I’m happy to answer other WordPress.com related questions. But conversation on the topic of the banner will, yes, cause this thread to be closed. Feel free to email your feedback to support@wordpress.com. But the forums are not the place for that discussion.

While plugins are common on self hosted WordPress sites, due to security concerns, they are not available on WordPress.com. There is more info regarding WordPress.com and plugins here:

If, for whatever reason, WordPress.com is not meeting your needs, then migrating to a self hosted WordPress.org site is a great way to go. This is a quick primer on the difference between .com and .org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Both .com and .org have advantages and disadvantages. But millions of sites use WordPress.org and millions of people love it. It offers some features that simply cannot be found in WordPress.com.

Should you choose to migrate to a self hosted site, we have a guide here:

The question is: has wordpress the right to impose an idea to all users? Not: how to migrate. That’s why users can not express their individual petitions. WordPress introduced an issue and then says this is not the place to ask for something so simple like giving to each user the option of diferent banners in the dashboard.
