Plug-in downloads

    I want to download plug-ins, but when I click on plug-ins it says: Do you want to add a shop? Then I need an upgrade for that. My friends have the same free package and they can download plug-ins. Do I have the wrong template? (Nuclear template) Or is it something else?

    Hope somebody can help me!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I am glad you asked this because I am having a similar problem. Are you downloading from WordPress, a third party site or are you downloading for WordPress.com? I found one of my issues was I had been accidentally trying to use WordPress. com apps on my WordPress. org account. I do not know enough about code and web design to tell you if it makes a difference on the back end, but for drag & drop type plug ins it did for me. A quick fix my I.T. guy suggested for this kind of issue on my full website was 1. Clear all cookies, ( cc cleaner is free and you can get a safe download of it on mybleepingcomputer if you don’t already have one) 2. Try opening the page you are trying to download your plugins from in an incognito window this is the only way I can use a lot of programs that my security software will otherwise block as adware or what not. 3. Try to use the plug in on a temp. test blog (one of the free ones) and see if it will work, then you will know it is the blog and you can from there deduct what settings are different from the test blog and adjust. Good luck and I hope it works out for you soon. – Hillary Marek

    Thanks for your reply! I installed CC cleaner and removed all the cookies. Then I opened my blog (don’t really understand what you mean with incognito window) and tried it again. Unfortunately nothing has changed. I created a test blog with an other theme and I have the same problem with that one.

    There is nothing wrong with your computer or your browser.

    Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality. You are confusing WordPress.ORG and WordPress.COM. For that type of functionality you’d need a self-hosted site running on a paid web hosting service.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/

    We have some built in plugins as you can see by clicking this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

    If what’s offered by wordpress.COM does not suit you you can hire a web host http://wordpress.ORG/hosting and set up your own wordpress.ORG software install.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
    WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

    Thanks for the answer! I did some research and found out that as well. Very confusing .com and .org. I am happy with my website, but I do miss more of Google analytic. I will look into it with a friend of mine to see how she does it.

    @zegmaarnee
    You’re welcome.

    See Google Analytics for WordPress.com Business sites http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/01/29/google-analytics-for-wordpress-com-business-sites/ There is no alternative when it comes to wordpress.COM hosted blogs. You either purchase the Business upgrade for $299 US per year or you don’t have access to Google Analytics.
