Plug-In Errors, White Screen Issues

    Hi! I’ve taken over covering our soccer club’s website since December. Out of nowhere, our website crashed. I am entry-level with knowing how to run the website. I haven’t done anything with plug-ins or coding and only update the visual content.

    I get this message when trying to get into the wp admin to edit:

    Fatal error: Uncaught ArgumentCountError: Too few arguments to function feedthemsocialupdater_init::__construct(), 0 passed in /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feed-them.php on line 121 and exactly 1 expected in /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/updater/updater-check-init.php:70 Stack trace: #0 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feed-them.php(121): feedthemsocialupdater_init->__construct() #1 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feed-them.php(572): Feed_Them_Social::instance() #2 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/feed-them.php(576): feed_them_social() #3 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-settings.php(447): include_once(‘/home2/bloomjo0…’) #4 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-config.php(90): require_once(‘/home2/bloomjo0…’) #5 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-load.php(50): require_once(‘/home2/bloomjo0…’) #6 /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php(34): require_once(‘/home in /home2/bloomjo0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/updater/updater-check-init.php on line 70

  • Hi there,

    Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host bloomingtonunited.org on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

    To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.

    Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at Network Solutions. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.

    You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, but as it stands now, we cannot help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

    The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help. Thanks!

    That’s really interesting. The previous admin for the organization said that they pay an annual fee to WordPress to host the website. Now I’m confused.

  • They were probably confused. I guess that they were using the open source WordPress installation (free) and hosting it somewhere else.
