Plug in tab on dashboard
-
I am trying to install a plug in on my blog and am advised to do the following: In the left panel of your WordPress admin, select Plugins > Add New
This tab doesn’t seem to exist on the left hand panel of my dashboard. Can you advise on a way around this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We do not have the ability to install plugins on wordpress.com blogs. There is no upgrade that will give you that ability. If you want to use plugins you’ll need to set up a self-hosted wordpress.ORG website.

In my case I get the below instructions:
Step 1: Install the plugin
1. Log in to your site’s Dashboard (e.g. http://www.yourgroovydomain.com/wp-admin)
2. Click on the ‘Plugins’ tab in the left panel, then click ‘Add New’.
3. Search for ‘Jetpack’ and the latest version will appear at the top of the list of results.
4. Install it by clicking the “Install Now” link. And I do have a similar link because my blog is on an activated domain but still no Plug in button. Any advice?

@anoriginalfoodie
Rad what kokkieh posted. Your http://afieofvalley.wordpress.com/ is a WordPress.COM blog not a WordPress.ORG install. There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/See here for a full comparison WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

oops! Rad was meant to be Read.
This is the WordPress.COM support forum. The only support docs that are relevant for your blog at http://afieofvalley.wordpress.com/ are here http://support.wordpress.com

Thanks timethief for your reply!
Could you also tell me why the correct number of my likes on Facebook doesn’t show on my posts? All it shows is 1.

The Facebook share button on your posts on your blog counts shares, likes and comments made on that post link on social media etc. (Twitter button does the same.) And the share counter in your stats counts only shares. So there can be the difference in numbers.
