  How can I simply add new plug ins?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  There is no FTP access https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/ and no blogger installed plugin capability. There never has been as blogger installed plugins as they are not permitted here at WordPress.com for various security reasons. No upgrade changes that reality. https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

  Ahh okay. I’m literally brand new to blogging and WordPress and so was following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNMiOjRf05c
  I’m at 15:24 mins and he gives instructions on how to do it but this is not possible?

  That video applies to wordpress.ORG software installs only. It does not apply to wordpress.COM hosted sites.

  We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
  (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
  (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.

  Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin.

  You are posting to the wrong support forum.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
