  We cannot use plugins on WordPress.com sites:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

  Do you know that there are different and distinct types of WordPress?
  wp.COM and wp.ORG each have specific capabilities and for details here is a Support article:
  http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  There are lots of widgets and shortcodes on WordPress.com. What do you want a plugin to do?
