Plug-Ins Can't Be Installed

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I’m not proficient in CSS or HTML, so I’m hoping you guys can help me. My site was hacked a few month back, but I was able to retrieve it. However, all my plug-ins were removed. I tried to re-install them, but I have been unsuccessful so far. Would anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem? Thank you!

The plugin instruction after download social media buttons is to find WP ‘plugin’ and press ‘add plugin’- then upload it. Where is this elusive ‘plugin’? Trying to find it has been a nightmare.

No other complaints about WP – I love it – but this needs fixing. How hard can it be to upload a plugin in WP? – downright impossible.

You’re right, uploading a plugin to WordPress.com is indeed impossible. You need to read what the Supportbot wrote. Plugins are for WordPress.ORG blogs only, not WordPress.COM.

And your social media buttons are right on your dashboard under Settings->Sharing. Please stop reading instructions for WordPress.ORG, as virtually none of it will apply to your blog.
