Does anybody know how to create their own FAQ on their blogs? Thanks for any help.

There is no FTP access to WordPress.COM blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins or third party themes.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/There is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.
WordPress.ORG offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.ORG install.
Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you wish to remain hosted here then I suggest creating a page for FAQs. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ You can use page jump links in the Page. See:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/08/01/links-to-specific-points-on-a-page/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/Then create a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ and include a link to the FAQs page http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages as well as other items your want in the custom menu.

May I also give you some additional advice please?
1. You are using an very old retired theme and themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress.COM features. Please consider selecting another more up to date theme and see here for 70 Two Columns + Responsive Layout WordPress Themes that you can use.
(a.) Responsive layout themes are the gold standard these days because people use many devices to view oir blogs with. A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme.
(b) Changing theme is not a big deal. Themes are just skins and we can change them on blogs like we change our own clothes. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears. After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
2. The site title tag is the most important tag in your site but your site title and tagline lack everything what is required for successful search engine optimization (SEO).
(a) To improve your site title see:
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/08/02/top-5-site-title-tag-tips/ and http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/12/05/keyword-power-in-the-blogging-world/(b) Taglines are meant to be very brief branding messages. See here for creating an effective one http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/
3. Here is how to use alignment icons properly to create text wrapping around your images in posts and pages. See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment
The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.
Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).
If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.
To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
<div style=”clear:both;”></div>4. re: The About me widget
I would reduce that verbiage in the widget drastically. I would copy and paste that text onto an About page. I would also include a blog description on that About page. See:
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/04/06/why-about-pages-are-essential/
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/06/17/creating-an-effective-blog-description/I hope these suggestions help you. Best wishes.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to give me all of these great suggestions. I really have no idea why how to manage a blog, so I appreciate this greatly! I am going to look over everything that you mentioned and see what I can tweak and change, and I may post again for your advice, if you don’t mind. Thanks again! Nice of you to take the time.
Best wishes to you as well!

You are welcome. :)
P.S. You can bookmark this thread and return to it as you slowly work through what I posted above.

Thank you. Since you are so knowledgeable, could you please let me know what you think of my new tagline? I am also trying to decide between the themes of Hemingway Rewritten, Spun, Bushwich, Collections, or Bon Vibrant. I’m so glad that you mentioned that I should change my theme; my old one looks so outdated, now that I’ve been scrolling through the new themes!

You Can Handle The Truth: WITH HOPE COMES LIFE: STRIVING FOR AN AUTHENTIC AND HAPPY LIFE WITH CANCER
That site title and the tagline now come to a total of 100 characters including spaces. and that’s too many.
If you change the site title to WITH HOPE COMES LIFE and the tagline is STRIVING FOR AN AUTHENTIC AND HAPPY LIFE WITH CANCER then the character count becomes 74 and that’s still too many.
If choose not to have a tagline (they are optional) and you change the site title to Living an Authentic, hopeful and happy life with cancer it will be 57 characters. And, that means Google will probably display it in full.
The Site title (blog name) and/or the optional Tagline can be changed on the top of this page at any time. > Settings > General …
“save changes”. That is exactly where search engine spiders look for the site title and removing it from there can cause issues with getting your content indexed. Note that the site title (blog name) and blog address URL do not have to be the same but it’s better for SEO (search engine optimization) if they are the same. -
I also did a Google search for “Living an Authentic, hopeful and happy life with cancer” and a Bing search for the same string and they demonstrate that your blog will be in good placement there.

I am also trying to decide between the themes of Hemingway Rewritten, Spun, Bushwich, Collections, or Bon Vibrant.
Theme selection is subjective and I’m extremely opinionated so I don’t usually make theme suggestions. For a free responsive layout theme I think Hemingway Rewritten will showcase your content best of all. Collections looks like a nice Premium theme. Zuki is more flexible when it comes to layout options and it’s about a third of the cost. I think it’s a lovely theme at a bargain price and I’m seriously considering purchasing it for my personal blog.

I hear you, that themes are very subjective. I’m still trying to decide. I like Bon Vivant a lot, but not sure that I want to pay. I very much like the idea of changing my site to with hope comes life. I also like the idea of a tag line. Interestingly enough, I never started the blog to get “traffic,” but really just gave out the address to my close family and friends. But I may have an article published that would have the link to my blog; in which case, I’d like it to look great, plus the fact that I may try and use it to springboard a way to help advocate for other people who are also living with cancer. I have a lot to work on/choose from! It’s a fun project to have. I am hoping to pick a new theme and choose a new name for the blog within the next couple of days! When you say choosing: Living an Authentic, hopeful and happy life with cancer, that’s not the name of the blog, is it? That seems very long. Thanks again for all of your help, you are kind to help me out!

Bon Vivant a lot, but not sure that I want to pay.
The only themes we can use on any WordPress.com hosted blog are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/

Hi there. I have recently changed the theme to my blog, and I have customized the colors on my blog as well. It says “saved,” but then when I close out and go back in, it’s back to the default color, which I don’t want. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? I’m new to this whole customizing a blog thing. Thanks!
-
When you purchase a premium theme you are paying for support directly from the theme designer. The theme your purchased has some custom color palettes as a feature. Support is delivered on the Premium Themes Support Forum. A link to that forum can be located here > Appearance > Themes
https://theme-support.wordpress.com/forum/automattic/bon-vivant/
Hope this helps. -

Oh, by the way, why do you think that the “about me” is too long? If I moved that info to a separate page, what would I put in place of the “about me?” Thanks.
-
I do not ever place lengthy “About me” statements in text widgets. People view our blogs on multple devices and those viewing using mobiles see this http://www.responsinator.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fyoucanhandlethetruth.wordpress.com%2F
-
Oh, OK, that’s interesting. I can look and see what other bloggers do, but given that, do you recommend that space is just left open?
-
I have an About page on my blogs.
View the blogs at:
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com
http://thistimethisspace.com
Check out the sidebars on each and then click the About page links.
