  Hi Dear people of wordpress. Can I install the ‘Site Offline or Coming Soon’ plugin on a free blog? And if I can, where will I find the plugin in the dashboard? Thank you for your help! Best, Antonia

  To change blog visibility to Private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings

  Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.

  For that type of functionality you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.
