Plugin and Theme combo for project feasability

    TL;DR

    Looking for best Theme/Plugin combo to have community/social media mixed with classified ads with 3 types of account. 1free, 1 various paid memberships and 3rd one that can manage and control multiple instance of the previous account.

    Hi Reddit,

    I’ve been going through a bunch of different Theme/Plugin Combo, and being fairly new to WordPress, realize mine and the tool’s limitations after having invested a decent amount of time and money. I was wondering if any WP vets could point me in the right direction in their opinion and/or let me know my project’s feasibility? What Theme and plugin would be optimal and compatible? Would I need to modify the theme/plugin’s code?

    Project description:

    Basically, what I want to achieve is some type of bastard child, inbred mix of a classified ads platform, such as Craigslists and a Social Media one like Facebook, or the veteran MySpace. The end goal for that is to create a hub for recruiters, agents and aspiring professionals to meet and see what’s available on the market. To give a better idea, for the start anyway, I’ll have 3 types of accounts, all registered, no guests.

    The types of users will vary from, as mentioned, recruiters that will just be lurking for recruits, casts that will market themselves with their profile acting as a portfolio, whether they be a signer, writer, actor, dancer, stripper, etc.. any kind of performer. And finally, agencies, which will be representative entities controlled by a manager. The agency will have the possibility to control multiple professional accounts and post ads on their behalf, as a manager would do, looking for contracts for his clients.

    All users will be able to go on the listing page, which should be filtered by location, look up an ad that interests them, and if they want to know more, go to the seller’s profile page for a more complete description, thus either reaching to him or not.

    Free User: Is limited to a simple profile page with very little options for customization. He will also be able to view other profiles, but in a limited manner. He will also be allowed to have one and only one “listing” or “ad” available to market himself.

    Professionals: Multi-level membership, with various degree of profile customization options and other perks, including but not limited to more than 1 active listing at the same time.

    Agencies: Business status, whit control over Professional accounts and possibility to post listings on their behalf. These professional accounts under their control will have a visible distinction such as agency logo or colours, in order to let recruiters know that these accounts aren’t independent and they won’t be dealing with them directly.

    If you want to consult about WordPress in detail, I suggest you use the services of a WordPress consultant, which are widely available on freelance service provider sites, such as UpWork, Freelancer, and so on.

    Because this forum is basically not a place to consult in detail, but a place for short requests for help, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
