Plugin Causing Website My Website to Crash

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I recently tried installing a plugin which crashed my blog site. I cannot access the admin panel, and uninstalled Jetpack (in an attempt to free up data space), not knowing that it would delete the entire domain. I tried following the steps instructed in a YouTube video (link here: https://youtu.be/6vd9IDCOyis), but I wasn’t able to access my account via the manual link he mentioned.

Can someone please help with this? If someone is willing to provide another possible solution here, I’m all ears. If I continue and the problem persists, even with new solutions, could I transfer over my domain name without having to pay for another Bluehost subscription? Mentioning Bluehost as their domain setup is integrated with WordPress.

Any help here would be appreciated.

    Hi there:

We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re unable to access your site’s backend to take a closer look. But I can get you pointed in the right direction.

The good news is that because your host uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com), help is available at the community forums here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

The folks in the open-source forum are more familiar with these issues and are in the best position to help.

You can also reach out to Bluehost if you have trouble: https://www.bluehost.com/contact

I hope this points you in the right direction.
