Plugin for creating a searchable database

    Hi all

    I have a database I want to create from a wordpress site, and also make it publically searchable. It’s a database of plant and animal information.

    After looking around the existing plugins, I can’t find anything similar. And while it sort of has the same function as a product catalog, I haven’t managed to find one of them that looks to be editable enough to change field names, add fields, etc.

    Has anyone else needed to create a catalog or similar style database for non-commercial usage? Did you use a plug and play plugin, or get one custom made?

    When I searched the available plugins referencing your inquiry I came across the following plugin that seems to closely meet your requirements:

    It is likely that you came across it also as it was one of the first results, but just incase you overlooked it, review the features available in the link above.

    If this is not to your liking and you require a more functional set up, please provide a little further detail about what you are hoping to achieve, how exactly would the database function and be set up on your website?

    If you are interested in a catalog style setup, there are also multiple plugins available to achieve this, see here for one particular example:

    Most of these plugins run in integration with the WooCommerce sales setup so I am not certain of there function as standalone or without the sales options, but definitely an avenue to pursue if it interests you.

    Thanks for your post! I saw the product catalogue one, and agree it looked like it might do what I want, but I had some questions for customisability…. if that is a word.

    I don’t think I really looked at the first one, maybe I got distracted by the fact it looked like an address type catalogue. But it certainly seems as if it might do what I want, if it is as customisable as it seems. Thanks. I’ll have a play!
