Plugin Help

I need to install a plugin, but I need help right from the very, very beginning – I’ve no idea how import or anything. I’ve tried various resources which suggest going to Dashboard – Tools – and then plugins but there is no plugins option on mine.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Only users with the enterprise WordPress.com plan can use additional plugins. The other users (free & premium) use the standard ones installed by the staff and don’t have control over them.
If you need complete control consider switching to WP.org.

Hi, I’m having the same issue. I would like to add my Ical to my blog. Am I able to do that with my free version of WP? This is my first time creating a blog so I have no idea what I’m doing.
Thanks for your help!

If you are looking to embed it in you blog as per these instructions use the “Text” widget (from the widgets section) and enter your HTML code.

Great! What if I don’t have a mobile me account? Does that cost money each month to have?
Thanks for your help

Which calender are you trying to integrate with your blog. Maybe this is what you’re looking for – http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/calendar-widget/

Thank You so much for your help, I was able to figure out exactly what I wanted with your guidance. Have a great weekend!

I actually just thought of another questions, maybe you know the answer. I would also like to put a map on my blog, that way I can pin all the different places we have travel too during our expat stay in Amsterdam. Do you have any idea how I can do this?
Thanks again!

Thanks for all the help!
I’ve got the map link in my blog now, it’s not what I was exactly thinking about bc it only shows me where I’m currently at. I was hoping to add pins to locations I have traveled too. Is this possible?
-
@ericandzeywatson
If it’s not an option here http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/ then the answer is no. -
-
You can very well mark multiple locations on the map. Read this http://help.create.net/entries/24117632-How-to-pin-point-multiple-locations-on-Google-maps-
-
You can. But you can’t then display the result on a wordpress.com blog.
I suggest you take a screenshot and then upload it. It’s not dynamic, but it will show pins.
-
@raincoaster Why not once you have marked the required places on the map you can get the embed code and display it on your blog.
-
Because, going back to the very beginning of the thread, you can’t just use any old code off the web. Only bare-bones Google Maps can be embedded here. Every time you try to add a layer of complexity to it, you render it un-embeddable here.
-
Adding multiple points just modifies the src link of the iframe so it is definitely embeddable.
Have a look at this http://jesinwp.wordpress.com/2014/01/19/a-sample-map/

That’s interesting. That’s the first successful iteration of an embed with pins that I’ve seen here. I stand corrected.
-
I’ve done it several times as well. But if I recall correctly I don’t think the maps update when you add more pins. It’s been some long while since I used a Google map here…
