plugin install

Can you tell me the alternative way to install the specific plugin such as WooCommerce on my site other than upgrading to the Business plan?

I don’t mind to buy the plugins that I really need to use.

    Regards, Eson

You would need to use self hosting to install plugins free or upgrade to the business pls

It’s helpful to share a bit more information with users about this plan.

  • Hi unitedtraveluk –

Yes, you can use plugins on our managed hosting environment at WordPress.com. The site infrastructure needs changed, and that change comes with our business plan. The plan includes 24/7 live chat support, your domain fees, and hosting costs. See here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

With the other version of WordPress, the open source software, called WordPress.org, you’re able to use plugins for free. That version of WordPress is much more hands on and technical than our managed hosting environment. So, depending on your experience level it may not be the right choice. There’s not any support team with that version of WordPress and you would need to find and pay for hosting.

This page has more details on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

What functionality are you looking for with the plugins? You might be able to use our built in tools to achieve the same functionality.
