Plugin Installation + Media Upload Errors – “Could Not Create Directory”

    Hello everyone,

    I’m running into a couple of issues on my WordPress site, and I’m not sure if they’re related to the latest WordPress update or something else.

    First, when I try to install a plugin (OptinMonster, in this case), I get this error:

    Installation failed: Could not create directory.
    /home3/tyxzntmy/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/optinmonster.2.16.19

    At the same time, I’ve noticed that I can’t upload media either—uploads fail, and I get similar “directory” or “permission” errors.

    For context:

    I’m on the Jetpack Free plan (if that matters).

    Nothing major has changed on my end—I’ve always been able to install plugins and upload media just fine.

    Jetpack’s AI chat mentioned this might be related to my plan, but that doesn’t quite add up to me (I’ve always been on this plan and never had these issues).

    I’m starting to worry because I really don’t understand what’s going wrong. Could this be a file permission issue? Or maybe a problem with my hosting environment?
