Hey!
I wanted to add a plugin to my page but I don’t have a plugin option in my dashboard. It sounds like everyone else does! I wanted to add a “pin it” button.
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes.
If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. -
I wanted to add a “pin it” button.
We cannot use JavaScript pin-it widgets or buttons http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascript nor can we install any plugins on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. They are for WordPress.ORG installs.
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/You can capture an image of a Pinterest icon and upload it, link to it and display it in a text widget. I have done this here in the text widget at the top of my sidebar for those who want to follow me on Pinterest http://thistimethisspace.com/ and here on my About page
http://thistimethisspace.com/about/For creating links in a text widget see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/text-widget-links/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
NOTE http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/#adding-an-imageYou can upload image files by clicking the Add Media button right above the editing area of a page or a post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/
You can also upload new files to your Media Library using Media → Add New. http://support.wordpress.com/media/media-add-new

For troubleshooting see http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/troubleshooting-images/You can enable sharing icons below your posts by following this guide
http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/On WordPress.com, you can easily embed your Pinterest profile, boards, or individual pins simply by pasting the links into any post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/embed-from-pinterest/

How can I know which version of WordPress I’m running 3.7 or 3.8? I don’t see the info on my Dashboard. Also, I don’t have a Plugin option and as far as I know I’m paying for hosting. My blog site is infinite-i.com.
Advice appreciated thanks. -
http://infinite-i.com/ – is a WordPress.COM hosted site – your hosting is FREE, but you are paying for the domain mapping but not hosting.
There is no Plugin option at WordPress.COM, the version number does not matter since the staff update the WordPress software for you and we are always a bit ahead of the stable WordPress.ORG version

@anuhe
Hijacking threads and posting off-topic issues into them is not acceptable. Please click this link and post your own thread in the future https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/support#postformWe are running 3.8.1 The versions are irrelevant here at WordPress.com for blogs like yours. Staff do all upgrades and we run on the latest version. In fact this platform is upgraded about a month prior to any new version being provided to WordPress.ORG users. Toss everything that applies to WordPress.ORG version into the trash. Know that only relevant support docs that apply to your blog are found here http://support.wordpress.com

It’s frustrating that there isn’t a good way to link such important social media tools (word press blog with pinterest). Blogger allows for java script in its gadgets (and is really free, you don’t have to pay for domain mapping). If wordpress won’t allow us to use java script in widgets it should develop a pinterest widget that we can use, similar to the Facebook like box.

All support docs are here http://support.wordpress.com

Thank you timethief. I think I am aware of my available options, but what I would like to have is a dynamic feed from Pinterest to WordPress that automatically posts a thumbnail of my latest pins onto a sidebar widget on my WordPress blog (which is what the Pinterest java script widget does). That way I don’t have to manually copy and past every new pinterest pin into a wordpress post.

You can request that in the Ideas Forum by using this link > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas
