  Can I install a plugin in my WordPress free site without upgrading it to any plan?

  Am sorry, to install a plugin on WordPress.com you have to purchase a Business plan or higher. This is because plugins may have security gaps and only websites with Business and eCommerce plans are placed on special, secure environment.
