Plugin request "Polylang"
-
I think many users would appreciate the possibility for visitors to switch between languages. If you live in Europe, for example, chances are that you’re not from the British Isles and your native language isn’t english. I’m sure many users would like to have a plugin available that allows them to provide an english as well as a dutch, french, spanish, german, swedish, or whatever language version of their website for their fellow countrymen. “Polylang” would be a great choice.
Thanks for reading!

I do agree with this comment!
It’s a pity it’s very complicated (or expensive) to set up a website in different languages… -
Thanks for the suggestion.
Automatic translation is not available to WordPress.com blogs. We bloggers do not have FTP access to blogs hosted by WordPress.COM and we bloggers cannot install any plugins, we cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it’s stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascriptHowever, I have translation on my WordPress.com blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/
Note: You can create a page https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ then and copy and paste the code on my Translations page here http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/translation/ Be sure to replace every occurrence of my blog’s URL in the code with your own blog’s URL.

I wish for the Polylang extension. It would be great and easy to work with!
Thank you in advance and have a great day.

I’ve noted your request for better multilingual support (such as the Polylang plugin) on WordPress.com on our potential list of future enhancements. Right now, this isn’t something on the radar, but we appreciate the suggestion.
The current options for multilingual sites are compiled on the page timethief referenced above.
