  How do I insert a plugin that will allow me to offer a free report in return for an email address?
  I know it can be done but I can’t figure out how exactly to do it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/

  That having been said, I think that using the contact form would allow you to offer what you are trying to do:
