    Hello,
I have purchased a web hosting package with Goddady so that my blog slavicabogdanov.com would be self-hosted. I switched the name servers. Yet, I still don`t see the possibility to place plugins in my web page.

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM and you are posting to the wrong support forum. This forum is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM.

It was up until this morning. I heard that I needed it self-hosted to be able to get plugins on it.
Now, if I go back and remove it from beeing hosted by Godaddy, will you be able to help me? Will I THEN be able to get plugins.
    Thank you

    No don’t do that!
WordPress.org installs have FTP access and can have plugins.
There is no FTP access to WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install plugins.

You need to go here http://wordpress.org/support and set up a wordpress.org username account.

    Read this please http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/
You need to set up your WordPress.org install, install a theme, install plugins into it, export your blog content out of your WordPress.com blog and import it into your WordPress.org install.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
That’s the process you must use and all support must come from http://wordpress.org/support/

Thank you. I created a new blog in .ORG. did everything, moved my vlog over. Now, when I type the address (it was not this at the start), it redirects me the the .com site which I left.

    Can you please help

    Thanks

    Hi There,

It looks like you will need to point your domains nameservers to your Go Daddy hosting account.

    Domain Manager Login

Go to Settings → Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
Look for Domain Administration, select “Make Changes to DNS” and change the password.
Copy or write down your Customer Number.
Select “Make Changes to DNS” again.
Click the Manage Your Domains link
Login with your Customer Number and password. If it’s your first time logging in, you will be prompted to create a PIN number.
You should now be logged in and see a list of your domains.

    Update Nameservers

The nameservers control where traffic for the domain goes using DNS. If you are moving from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, you can enter the nameservers provided by your web hosting company to switch your domain to their hosting service.

Login using the Domain Manager Login instructions.
      Click on your domain.
      domain-list
Click the Nameservers button, then Set Nameservers from the drop down.
Select I have specific nameservers for my domains. (use the nameservers given to you at Go Daddy, you can call or email if you have questions)
Make any changes and click the OK button.
Click the Log Out link at the top right.
Wait for the change to take full effect across the internet (usually a few hours).

Once this has propagated your domain should successfully point to your Go Daddy hosting account where your WordPress install is located. Here you can update your theme, install plugins, and do quite a bit more. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact our 24/7 support staff.
