Hi there. I have been trying to figure out how to download plugins via the WordPress app or WordPress.org using the free version of WordPress. I know that I would need to download the business plan to download plugins on WordPress.com, but I was wondering if this was possible if I didn’t upgrade to the business plan. I feel like I’ve tried everything to make this work. Thanks.

To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org and they are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

On WordPress.com to be able to install plugins or third-party themes you will need to upgrade to plan Business or eCommerce.
