  I’ve done some searching but can not find what plugins WordPress.com uses on their blogs. I know there are a lot of nice ones you regularly endorse, but would be very interested from a developer perspective what plugins the site uses particularly for filtering input fields.

  We cannot use plugins on WordPress.com. But there is a shortcode you can use to put polls onto your blog:
