  hi, i downloaded a wordpress theme and i have to install it. do i have to go to plugins to upload the theme file or is there any other way? and if i have to do it through plugins, what is really a procedure of installing a theme? thank you

  Sorry, plugins are not allowed on blogs at wordpress.COM for security reasons. Plugins are for self-hosted blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  Plugins

  We cannot add themes at wordpress.COM. We are limited to the themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  @thesacredpath thanks so much for your help. i was googling some themes today and i came across some amazing ones that i downloaded. i later discovered (i.e after posting my question here) that there was a new version of wordpress 3.1 something which i had to download for the themes to work. i dont really know if that will work. ive given up on that anyway. thanks again. peace

  Please read this entry carefully as I am concerned that you maybe confused about where to post for support.

  There are two wordpress sites for two different versions of wordpress software and they are completely separate.

  I’m sorry, but themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org.
