    Dear Support-Team,

i am new on the market of websites.
I opened a business, got a domain from you and wanted to create now a website. I made my research and came to the conclusion to choose wordpress (you) as the one i would like to create my website with.

Nevertheless i get a little bit stuck in between. When i made my researc at the internet it said i can install randomly any plugins. But now i see that i do not even have a button with “Plugins”. Could you please help me and let me know what i do need more to create my website.

Afterwards i was reading that i need a sql database and a hosting etc. is it possible to get all this with you? maybe with the premium or business account?

    Thank you for your support.

    Best regards
    Marian Engel

  • Hey,

I’m afraid that it isn’t possible to install plugins on WordPress.com sites, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on those running the self-hosted WordPress.org software. That’s the same for the references to SQL and hosting.

The difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org is explained here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

That said, WordPress.com has a pile of features that are inspired by popular plugins, so take a look at the main support site to see if what you want to do is available already:

    I hope this makes sense!
