Plugins
-
Hi,
I am new to wordpress and am using their free hosting service for my site.
I wish to add a plug in however the ‘add’ button next to the ‘plugin’ button on the menu is missing. When I click the ‘plugin’ button nothing happens.
I see that other people in the past have had similar issues from previous forums but when I try to the suggested solutions they don’t work.
I’m keen to add a couple of plugins and would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by ” the suggested solutions they don’t work”?
Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/For that type of functionality you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins (passwords), features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You can hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting and move your content into a WordPress.ORG install https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.
