  Hi,

  I down loaded the ‘Gateway’ theme to start a blog. I do not see ‘plugins’ in the appearance tab nor able to find ‘Jetpacks’ to download.

  You can’t add plugins on WordPress.com

  Hi Galois,

  Okay, then I a confused. I am using the “Gateway” theme and was watching a YouTube video on how to use the theme. In the video he was able add the Jetpack.”

  What am I missing? Or if I am going to use the WordPress platform for a blog, then do I just use the theme as is?Or do I buy a domain name and use wordpress as my platform from there? Or do I upgrade to Premium?

  Just trying to figure this out..

  Yes, you are confused: that video is for WordPress.org installs.

  There are two platforms, WordPress.com & WordPress.org, see the differences:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  That’s it, you can’t add plugins on WordPress.com
