How do I add plugins?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You don’t. Plugins can’t be added to WordPress.COM blogs. They are for WordPress.ORG blogs.

Yes. Please read this > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs like the one linked to your username and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/If you wish to have complete control over a blog, the ability to upload themes and plugins, and to edit themes and templates then your option is to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.ORG and self host it.

One more Question: On one site, on the user list, there is a choice of Admin, author, contributor, editor, seo, and subscriber. Is adding seo a plugin? If not, how do I add it?

These are the only user roles we can assign to official users of our free hosted WordPress.com blogs. http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

SEO is an acronym and you can use Google to find out what it means ie. search engine optimization. Yes there are SEO plugins for WordPress.org installs and yopu don’t have a WordPress.org install.
WordPress.com blogs have good SEO already.

Hi, sorry to still be confused, but I purchased a domain name from Go Daddy, then purchased web hosting from WordPress, and I still don’t have access to plugins.
I’m wondering if I should ask for my money back on my WordPress hosting? I would like to have access to plugins.
Thank you for your help. -
WordPress does not sell web hosting. They are a free host. If you want, you can purchase upgrades like the Videopress upgrade, etc, but the hosting itself is free.
http://octaviaandvicky.com/ is a WordPress.com blog. I don’t know what you paid for but if you must have plugins you should ask for a refund.
We do, however, find most people wanting plugins simply want certain functionality or certain results, and we can usually achieve those here with some workarounds. If you know specifically what you want to achieve, do a forum search to see if someone has posted the way to get it working without plugins.

Thank you for your reply. I think I paid for domain mapping, which is a seperate thing… I am still getting my head around it all, but that makes sense for now. I’ll persist as is, there’s a good chance that I wouldn’t know what to do with a plugin if I could get access to one!
