  I wish to add plugins on my site. However, the tutorials online seemed to have vastly different dash boards.

  Once that is fixed, how can I link the donations to a progress bar?

  Plugins are not permitted on WordPress.com. They are only for self-hosted WordPress sites (also known as WordPress.org)
