    I use showit as my hosting company. How do I add plugins to my WordPress account? I pay for showit, does that not count as a paid WordPress account?

    As you said you paid to showit for hosting. So,Your site is using WordPress.org platform.

    WordPress.org and WordPress.com are two different platform. For more information on both the platform please refer to the link below: https://wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    – You have to be under Business plan for WordPress.com if you want to install plugin on your site.

    This forum is not the right place to get help related to Org (self hosted) sites. The main role of this forum is the help the users with the issues related to the .com sites.
