There is no FTP access and no plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.
Please read > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ -
For audio on your free hosted WordPress.com blog see http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/

brentdavidfraser.bandcamp.com is NOT a free hosted WordPress.com blog and we provide support only for free hosted WordPress.com blogs here.
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

uh oh, i guess i really screwed something up , i’m talking about my wordpress blog (free as yet) brentdavidfraser.wordpress.com and i obviously have my bandcamp info in the wrong slot somewhere.
so you are saying there is no upgrade to wordpress that will allow me to use an audio plugin at http://brentdavidfraser.wordpress.com?
thank you very much, i appreciate it.

You don’t NEED an Audio Plugin. It’s all built in here for free. Look here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=audio
