    I wanted to know what plugins would be good for running a website in WordPress that does not require SSL to work. Plugins like WooCommerce.

    You are posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We only provide support here for sites that are hosted on our servers, and cannot provide general plugin advice.

    All sites hosted on WordPress.com have SSL enabled by default:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/https-ssl/

    For advice on the open source WordPress software, please ask the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead.

    However, I can already tell you that their advice will be to use SSL. It protects both your and your site visitors’ privacy, and is better for SEO. Additionally any plugin that’s used to process payments on a site will require SSL, not merely as a technical requirement, but as a legal one.
