hi,
I’d like to activate some plugins but in my administration interface there isn’t such a item “Plugins”. There are just items like “Appearance”, “Posts”, “Media”, “Links” … but not “Plugins”. What shall I do to enable it??
thank you in advance
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no FTP access to WordPress.com free hosted blogs. We bloggers cannot install any plugins. Those are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/There is no upgrade that you can purchase from WordPress.com that provides FTP access , the ability to install plugins, third party themes and software into free hosted WordPress.com blogs. If your require plugins you must hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I’ve expected this answer but I thought that there must be a way to activate some “most popular” plugins, for example for formatting the source code. Apparently, it’s not possible.

There are a ton of extra Widgets and some Short Codes so that you don’t need to add Plug-in’s
