"Plugins" not in dashboard
-
Hi there,
I’m having a difficult time setting up my wordpress site. I had my hosting company set up a new domain for my site http://www.charactersunlimitedbc.com. They set up the hosting and now I am trying to customized the site. I am currently using a wordpress theme called “Corporate”.
The issue I am having is the “plugins” icon is not visible in my dashboard. I have watched endless videos and read articles and cannot figure out what I am missing.
Does anyone know what the problem may be? Any help would be much appreciated!

If you are reading anything that makes you think that we bloggers can install plugins, custom themes or third party themes on sites hosted by wordpress.COM, then you are mistaken/misinformed. We have never had that ability. You are confusing wordpress.COM hosted blogs and wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.
Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality. Permalink structure cannot be changed on sites hosted by wordpress.com
For that type of functionality, you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.

https://move.wordpress.com/WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that you want to install plugins on, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Hi,
According to Who Is Hosting This?, https://charactersunlimitedbc.com/ is hosted by WordPress.com. Therefore it will not have a plugins icon in the dashboard and you won’t be able to add plugins to the site. Are you referring to another, self-hosted, site?

Your detailed theme description page is at https://wordpress.com/themes/corporate/ and that’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://corporatedemo.wordpress.com/
The support doc for the theme is here https://wordpress.com/themes/corporate/support/
