Plugins not installing

  • Unknown's avatar

After I discovered that subscribers were no longer receiving updates about new blog posts, I investigated my plugins and found that I no longer had several that had previously been installed. I tried to update / re-download these but repeatedly get the same message error: ‘Installation failed: Could not create directory.’ I also do not see any built-in widget that allows followers to subscribe, though I have seen these described in WordPress advice documentation. Is there some solution that will allow readers to receive alerts when I post?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, sadly, only sites with the Business Plan can upload custom plugins. However, all sites do get access to some plugins automatically.

It seems your site (http://uofeacademicpracticenetwork.wordpress.com/) is using WordPress.com but if this isn’t the actual URL of your website, please let us know.

That’s not the blog I need help with and I’m not sure why that URL showed up there, sorry! The question was being asked for thepocahontasfiles.com, which is hosted by GoDaddy but runs WordPress. The plug-ins have been working just fine for years and suddenly stopped doing so — I think after one of the recent updates?

    Hi,

It appears that your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, which is what this forum is designed to help with. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

You may be able to find help here: https://wordpress.org/support/ or alternatively contact your hosting provider.

    Hope this gets fixed soon!
