Plugins on my blog

I switched my WP blog from a wordpress.com url to a .com url, however I cannot find the Plugins option on my dashboard. I thought that by switching from the free wordpress.com url to the paid .com url, I would be able to add plugins to my website. Is this not true?

Hi there – Plugins aren’t permitted for sites hosted here at WordPress.com, regardless of upgrade. The difference is where your site is actually hosted: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
What type of plugin do you want to install? It’s possible we have a feature or widget that does the same thing.
If not, and you do have to have that plugin, to move your blog to a self-hosted site, you’ll first need to obtain web hosting. We have some recommendations here:
