Plugins option in the admin panel
-
I want to add a plug-in. Theoretically there’s a plugins option in the admin panel according to your instructions, however I seem not to have it in my website. Will you advise me how to manage it? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Many of the features that people use plugins for are already built in here at WordPress.com so they are often unnecessary here. What plugins did you want to install? We might have a feature or widget that does the same thing.
If there’s a plugin you need that we don’t have, you might look into a self-hosted WordPress site, as plugins aren’t permitted at WordPress.com for security reasons. You can read more about the differences here:

Thank you very much. I’m going to add tracking code to my website. To my knowledge there’re 2 ways: one is to modify the header.php or footer.php and the other is to upload a plugin chosen from the official plugins repertoire. Actually I don’t know coding very much and was not able to find the *.php file in my website. I didn’t see the plugin option either, which should between ‘appearance’ and ‘user’ in the main panel. Or is it because I’m using a free wordpress edition?

Hi there,
Is the tracking code for stats? If so, we have our own built-in stats collection, which you can read about here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/
Plugins can’t be used here at WordPress.com, and it’s not possible to edit the php here, either. Often, this isn’t necessary because a lot of the things you’d need to do this for are already done for you. However, if there are things you need to be able to do that you cannot do here at WordPress.com, you might look into a self-hosted WordPress website. This article explains the difference:

Hi there –
It’s not possible to add Google analytics to WordPress.com sites, but we do have stats built in. You can also verify your domain with Google Webmaster Tools for some additional info:
