Plugins Page Needs Description
-
Hi WordPress team,
In the webpage, on Plugins (http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/), it’d be really helpful for a lot of people if each plugin was described or at least link to more info for each of the plugins mentioned in the set. It’s really difficult to figure out which one I can use for something I want to do (in this case, embed PDFs) if the names of these plugins are not self-explanatory.
Thanks for your time,
DeniseThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
No plugins are required for PDFs.
Accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/Uploading documents
See here for accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/ The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/Embedding documents
If you want to embed the document itself into a post, then you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs.

Also the Plugin list is for Enterprise level blogs, that starts around $ 30,000 / year and you need to pass a serious interview with WordPress.COM to insure that you already know what you are doing.
As for what plugins are on your stock blog – they are called Widgets and Short Code – functions added by the staff
