  Hi,
  How can I update my wordpress site so that I can have plugins? I don’t have the option on the dashboard and wondering if I need to upgrade or what I need to do?
  Also, I don’t seem to have the option to change page templates after looking at how to customize some things – again, is this an upgrade or something I need to change?

  Please check the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

  Plugins are only for self-hosted WordPress.org based sites.

  Ok thanks. So just to be clear I can’t change page templates in wordpress.com?

  You can switch between the available templates from Page Attributes panel on Add / Edit Page screens.

  However you can’t change the available templates or add new templates.
