Plugins (redux)
-
While it’s clear from reading the documentation that plugins cannot be installed in WordPress.COM land, you make the following statement in your .ORG versus .COM page:
>>WordPress.com is based on a multi-site version of the WordPress software which does not permit uploading of PHP themes or plugins (although many popular plugins are built into WordPress.com ).<<
So, the question is: What “popular plugins” are built into WordPress.com and where can I find and activate them?

First, just in general to know what’s there, second I’m interested in knowing if the functionality in the WP-Syntax plugin is installed in WordPress.COM.
Also, having some sort of list of ‘included’ functionality for already installed plugins in WordPress.COM might help with the “I want this plugin” and “where’s my plugin tab” questions. ;-)
Thanks,

Well, you can get a good look of some of the features at http://en.wordpress.com/features/
You can also search through http://en.support.wordpress.com/ for specific features. If we have them, they should be documented (unless they’re incredibly new).
For example, syntax highlighting: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/posting-source-code/

Many of the Plug-in’s show up as Widgets – Dashboard >> Appearance >> Widgets to see the Widgets.
