Plugins & Themes
-
I have a question about the plans. I will be going through GoDaddy and selecting their WordPress hosting plans. I will be going with their WordPress Deluxe package.
Can I use WordPress themes and plugins per 1 website included in the Deluxe package?
Thank you very much!

Hi there,
I should probably start by pointing out that we are not directly connected to GoDaddy. We both offer WordPress sites, but are separate companies. One key difference is that we offer fully managed WordPress hosting for the best performance and security. WordPress is just one of the many platforms GoDaddy offers, so their hosting is usually not specialized for WordPress and needs a bit of tuning up to work well with this platform.
More info here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
If you have a domain with GoDaddy, you are welcome to use that as the custom address of any site you set up on our managed hosting. You can do that by upgrading to any of our plans, all of which include a custom domain connection option:
These charges are equivalent to the hosting fees that GoDaddy charges, so you could set up your site here or there for roughly the same cost. What kind of site are you planning to set up? A new personal site for yourself? Or a site to promote your business online? If you can tell us more about what you have in mind we’re happy to help point you in the right direction!
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for responding. I am about to build a website for a cabinet shop and I found some themes and templates that I might want to use from Envato Elements. I am trying to figure out what plan is best to go with. They are in the process of transferring their domain to GoDaddy.

Gotcha; in that case it might actually be best to check in with GoDaddy themselves – as they are a separate company to us here at WordPress.com, they’d be a better resource for what their products include!
As it is, you can also possibly check in with the community forums of WordPress.org too. WordPress.org is where the WordPress software comes from, and their forums are a community of site owners who use a range of different hosting providers:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/Were the site to be hosted here, I’d have suggested our Business plan instead as it lets you use plugins for sure. As it is, if the cabinet shop is planning to sell any products via the website, I can definitely suggest looking into the WooCommerce plugin for the site, when you’re building it at GoDaddy.
