Plugins uninstalled automatically and site layout broken
-
Hello Team,
I am facing a serious issue with my WordPress website and I need a clear explanation.
I am able to log in to the WordPress dashboard, but suddenly:
- All plugins got uninstalled / disappeared automatically
- The complete website layout got broken
- This is a live, ongoing client website
- No manual uninstall was done by me
- No changes were intentionally made before this happened
Because of missing plugins, the site design, functionality, and layout are completely disturbed.
This raises a very serious concern for us as developers and agencies:
- How can plugins uninstall automatically without user action?
- Is this related to WordPress core updates, hosting environment, malware cleanup, or auto-updates?
- How can we trust WordPress for production/live client websites if everything can break suddenly?
- What preventive steps should be taken to ensure this never happens again?
This situation directly impacts client trust, and such unexpected breakdowns are unacceptable for professional websites.
I would really appreciate:
- A clear reason why this happens
- Best practices to avoid this in the future
- Recommended backup and protection strategy for live websites
Looking forward to expert guidance.
Thank you.
