Plugins/self hosted blog

  I wish to install the WP-Table Reloaded into my wordpress.com blog. I read that only ‘self hosted’ blogs allow plugins. How do I make my blog ‘self hosted’? I don’t really understand this. Is it possible to make a wordpress.com blog self hosted? Do I have to shift to wordpress.org to do this? My blog is http://inmemoryofvucko.wordpress.com/. Thank you.

  Reading the information at wordpress.org – I think it’s beyond my own skills to create a blog there. But I also see it’s possible to pay for a ‘guided transfer’ from wordpress.com. Would that be the route to go? And then once I’m over at wordpress.org, ask them to install the WP-Table Reloaded plugin for me?

  No the two are completely separate.

  Opinion: Do not move to self hosting unless you are preared to take on the full responsibility that goes with that territory. You will be responsible for all upgrades, installations, backups and troubleshooting. If you install a theme or a plugin that negatively affects your blog, then you have to figure out what went wrong and fix it. There is support at http://wordpress.org/support/ but it’s not the kiind of hand holding support you get on this forum. You do have to be prepared to read the Codex and fend for yourself.

  You’re welcome. I used to self host one of my blogs but I moved it back here. Being able to upload plugins and themes comes along with the cost of paying for web hosting and in my case it wasn’t worth it.
