Plz hlp me get my domain from .Com to .Org, held hostage over 1yr I'm

    WordPress Transfer

    Hi!
    For the last year a hosting company (I won’t name) took me for granted. They knew I was confused about this process, and so they took my money, and walked me through getting a WordPress.Com site, when I realized this, they would not help me fix this. As this was a domain I paid for, I was very sad. So I just began to create content in huge 3 ring binders (almost not trusting the internet or anyone on it)
    Finally 4days ago, I realized I was billed over $200 as my host tried to lock me in for another year, I had my brother call and get them to replay me and cancel.
    So now im left with a domain on WordPress.com that I want on .org , but I’m a bit nervous…
    AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
    ALSO, if/when I get my site up, how much would it cost to have someone do very basic theme/colors/places widgets where they need to go…

    I have mild OCD and EXTREME anxiety, and I won’t post content if the page doesn’t look good, and I won’t be able to do that….

    Hi beautyroomconfessions,

    So now im left with a domain on WordPress.com that I want on .org , but I’m a bit nervous…

    beautyroomconfessions.com was registered through WordPress.com and is currently being used as the custom domain for beautyroomconfessions.wordpress.com. There are two options for using this domain on another site:

    1. Change the name servers

    Keep the domain registered with WordPress.com but point it to another host by changing the name servers. The domain would still be renewed through us:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/change-name-servers/

    2. Transfer the domain

    Transfer beautyroomconfessions.com away from WordPress.com, to your new host. This option means the domain would be renewed through your host each year and the site and domain can be managed from one place:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

    thanks, wordpress said somewhere they offeredthis service but i clicked it and didnt hear bac, being disabled and currently undergoing infusions 2hrs away from my home, its hard

    It was the right thing to do, right? Lol, I mean I can’t even download the stupid thing!

    If you want to use the domain with a site hosted somewhere else, that was the right thing to do, yes.

    I see your domain is now already in Bluehost’s control, so you can contact their support for any more help with the domain, and getting a new WordPress site up and running on their servers.
