Hi. If you’re looking for the place on your site from where you can add plugins you need to login in your admin page (e.g. yoursite.com/wp-admin) and then navigate to Plugins > Add New from the black menu on the left hand side. There you can search for the plugins you want and add them to your site.

For paypal, have a look at this page that has some instruction on how to integrate PayPal links to your site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Richard,

I log onto the web admin but Plug in cannot be found anywhere including the black menu pannel on the left. I go to tools but none there either.

Why cannot I find it? it should be displayed as plug in right even if i don’t dig the layers of directory?

    Hi again,

Are you trying to do this on http://armms.wordpress.com ?

If yes, my apologies I made a mistake: because that blog is hosted on “wordpress.com” you can’t actually add plugins to it yourself. Plugins are only available on the self-hosted version of WordPress. You can read more about plugins on this page:

    Plugins

However we do include a lot of plugin functionality as built-in features so if you tell me what sort of plugin you were looking for I can perhaps direct you towards the right feature.

    Hi

    thanks again
Actually, I have already bought the domain as armsuk.com, but everytime i go to web admin of this, it goes to http://armms.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

Why it is???? I’ve been trying to change it to my domain but it does not work. What’s missing???

    BTW paypa worked, thank you.

That is normal behaviour. The reason is that the domain you purchased is “mapped” to your “armms.wordpress.com” site. Think of it as ‘pointing to it’ might help. When you’re viewing your blog normally you (and your visitors) will see it as “armsuk.com” but your admin pages are still associated with “armms.wordpress.com”.

thanks Richard, but the problem is even though wordress, com is the nbase and mapped to my domain, but I cannot find the plugin anywhere.
Can you tell me where is it?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi again, so because you’re hosted on WordPress.com you don’t I’m afraid get plugin functionality. This link I mentioned earlier might help in understanding the differences: http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

What particular plugin do you wish to add to your site?

    Hi, thanks again.

But what is the point for me to have purchased my domain then?????
I want to have plug ins for the podcast and other SEO things, that’s why I bought the domain

Why isnt is included and how can I make a change????? Without the pluginn, it is not that useful.

WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features that were inspired by popular plugins. Chances are, the feature you are looking for is already there! You can search our support site via this link:

    Home

For any features on WordPress.com, the support page will explain how to set it up.

It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
