Podcast conversion to blog
-
Why must I upgrade to a paid plan for customizing my blog? I can’t even add images. I have several sites with WP and have been blogging for years. I started a podcast two years ago on Anchor and decided to convert it to a blog site. What a disappointment! I’m a teacher and my resources are limited. By the way, the block editor is such a hassle!
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you tell us a bit more about what you are trying to customize? It may be the case that the changes you are wanting to make do not require an upgrade, so we are happy to take a closer look. To confirm, this is for aliterarycornucopia.wordpress.com yes?
I can’t even add images.
I don’t see anything on this end that would prevent you from adding images to aliterarycornucopia.wordpress.com, can you tell us more about the trouble you are having there? What is the URL of the page you are trying to upload images to so we can take a closer look. Did you see an error message of some kind when you tried?
By the way, the block editor is such a hassle!
If you prefer you can use the classic editor instead of the block editor. More info here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/classic-editor-guide/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for responding!
I upload images but when I update the post, they’re not visible. The Classic Editor is only available for some of the features. I’ll check out the link for support.
I’ll also check out your videos on YouTube. Thanks again. -

Hi there,
I checked the post and am not seeing any image on this end either. How are you adding the images to the post? Via the image block? Are you trying to add it as a featured image?

I took a look at the post using the Classic Editor and I do see the image there:

I also got a warning that the post had been originally created in the Block Editor, which might be causing the problem.
With your permission, I’d like to try and remove the image in the Classic Editor then add the image through the Block Editor and see if that shakes the problem out. It looks like you wanted the image before the podcast player?
Just let me know! Thanks.

I think I’ve been able to work around the issue. I’ll continue with this new blog and hopefully won’t run into any other major issues. I have approximately 12 WP blogs under various themes and this is the first time I’ve encountered a problem that appears to be minor.
Thank you all, for the feedback! -
Glad to hear that you found a way to make it work. Feel free to reach out again if you have trouble!
