Podcast episode not synced with WordPress
-
Hi, my podcast hosted on Anchor has been linked with WordPress for several months now. While, most of the new episodes are synced automatically, it’s not happening with some episodes. For example, my second most recent episode is not on WordPress yet, while the most recently one published successfully. Can you please check why this episode is not synced? https://anchor.fm/dashboard/episode/e18sa3j
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Are you saying you’re expecting an episode you created on Anchor.fm, to be synced as a new blog post automatically created on your WordPress.com site?
If that’s the case, that’s not how WordPress.com’s Anchor integration works. The connection between your WordPress.com site and Anchor.fm is one-way – it lets you import posts from your site with us into your Anchor account, where you can then convert those posts into podcast episodes. But if you publish a new episode from scratch on Anchor, that’s not automatically imported to your WordPress.com site.
To have a new podcast episode on Anchor appear on your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to create a new post directly with us, and use the Podcast block to embed that episode in the post.
You can find more details on our Anchor integration here:
https://wordpress.com/support/create-anchor-podcast/
And information on using our podcast block to embed podcasts here:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/podcast-player-block/
If I’m misunderstanding what you’re trying to do, please provide some more details :)

Hi Kokkieh, thanks for a quick response. The way it has been working for me is different. Every time I upload a new episode on Anchor, a new page is automatically created on WordPress. The most recent one being my most recent episode (this one).
It used to happen for other episodes also but not for all. Like this episode (Anchor link) on Anchor was also uploaded recently but no corresponding page created on WordPress. So looks like something is broken. There is an option on Anchor to automatically connect with WordPress, which means every time we upload an episode on Anchor – it should create a page on WordPress, that’s exactly how it should happen but looks like there is a gap somewhere. Now I can’t find a way to create a page manually on WordPress on the episodes page and integrate it like all other episode pages. Any help is appreciated.

Hello there,
Every time I upload a new episode on Anchor, a new page is automatically created on WordPress. There is an option on Anchor to automatically connect with WordPress, which means every time we upload an episode on Anchor – it should create a page on WordPress, that’s exactly how it should happen but looks like there is a gap somewhere.
Hmm, it doesn’t sounds like that’s 100% accurate – it’s not possible for Anchor episodes to post into WordPress.com.
https://madhushalapodcast.wordpress.com/2021/11/06/5-kinkartavya_abhilasha/ – this is not a page, but instead a post. I can see from the revisions, that this was created on WordPress.com first, and not the other way round.

Believe me or not – that’s exactly what happens. Every time I upload an episode on Anchor, it creates a corresponding page on WordPress. It’s not unique to WordPress-Anchor integration, even services like Podpage support something similar. You can check with Anchor team for more details if the guys at WordPress are not aware.
Your second comment is also incorrect. This page was created automatically right after I uploaded an episode on Anchor. However, I had modified it on WordPress after it was created.
https://madhushalapodcast.wordpress.com/2021/11/06/5-kinkartavya_abhilasha/I don’t know the difference between WordPress pages and posts. Somehow, the WordPress interface looks like we are living in 2005, too hard to find the options. For example, I can’t find an option to create an episode page manually now so that it can show up under Episodes! This is in serious need of UX / UI transformation.

Our support documentation only covers converting posts made here at WordPress.com to a podcast on Anchor’s end – there is no autoposting from Anchor to WordPress.com that is controlled on our end.
If you’re making new posts on Anchor’s end and it is creating new posts here, then that would be an integration on Anchor’s end and you should reach out to their support for help in seeing why only some of your posts on Anchor are getting created here.
Hope that clarifies things.
