podcast / mp3 / itunes – can’t upload mp3 to wordpress blog

    I’ve recently taken on the task of blogging for a podcast to which I was already contributing (bsbingo.wordpress.com), and for some reason, I can’t seem to upload our new episode onto the blog.

    The podcast is on iTunes, although I didn’t set this up myself, so I’m not quite sure how the whole wordpress / feed (burner?) / iTunes thing works, but previously, it has been possible to upload audio onto a blog post, and that audio would then automatically end up as part of our iTunes feed.

    At the moment, my problem seems to be that I need a ‘space upgrade’ to accomodate mp3 files, but the weird thing is that we’ve so far uploaded 16 episodes without needing this upgrade. The mp3s for these episodes are still in our media library, and as far as I know, requiring an upgrade for mp3 files is not a recent development (I just found a discussion on the message boards from 2007 that talks about the same issue).

    As a secondary question, I also want to be able to change the information and images that iTunes uses for our podcast. As far as I know, these originate on wordpress, but does anyone know how to access and edit them?

    Hi there, I don’t think it’s ever been possible uploading *.mp3 files without the upgrade, but I could be wrong.

    However, I can with certainty say that you will need the upgrade now.

    As for image you wouldn’t see that anywhere seeing that the audio player doesn’t display them so you could use whichever image you want in the post. http://support.wordpress.com/audio/

    Older files uploaded prior to the space upgrade addition (awhile ago now) and/or files uploaded while having an space upgrade that expired will still be there, but a new subscription for any of the space upgrades is required for new audio file uploads.
