Podcast rejected by iTunes
-
I have followed WordPress’ instructions to the letter–testing the feed, Feedburner, etc.–and still the podcast gets rejected due to an image issue. However, the image is 1400 x 1900, rgb, jpg, and is linked to a URL at tinypic.com. I don’t get it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read what Staff have posted here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/itunes-zero-episodes?replies=18#post-1833258 as it may help you. If it doesn’t then post again and type modlook for Staff attention into the sidebar tags on this thread.

This is what a support person at iTunes sent me:
“Your feed does not have the ‘iTunes Declaration’ in the second line, and is lacking the ‘itunes:image’ tag which should carry the image URL. The ‘image’ tag is not read by iTunes, so your image is not being seen. There is evidently something you need to do in WordPress to make the feed iTunes-compliant but I’m afraid I can’t advise on specifics there.
As to the URLs, you may be OK with https but my advice would be to avoid it and use http.”
Now, where in the WordPress instructions does it say I have to put <itunes:image> tag somewhere on my page? I don’t even know how to do that. And where do I do anything with an “iTunes Declaration?” I checked the box off when I used Feedburner. What else do I have to do?

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance because I do not know how to help you. Another Volunteer may answer prior to Staff but I tagged the thread so it will not fall through the cracks and escape attention. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

timethief, thank you for trying to help. I’m sure this is something simple/stupid but I’m stumped.

So, should I change the https or not? In addition, I use Safari on a Mac–what do I do for that? Wow, this gets complicated.

timethief, I figured it out. And quite by accident. The problem? I was putting the wrong address in the iTunes area when it asked me for the link–I know: stupid. I was putting in http://edwarddentzel.com . . . instead of http://feeds.feedburner.com/edwarddentzelredstatetalkradioshow. As soon as I did that, the submission went through perfectly, although I am sure some other problems will pop up . . . I was watching a video on YouTube regarding podcasts and it just by accident mentioned that. Immediately, I knew what was wrong. Thanks for trying to help. But it was all my fault.
