Podcasting – MP3 link is not becoming enclosure

Did something change in the last week or two?

With my first three episodes I put the mp3 link as a standard link to where it is hosted. The magic of wordpress.com put this link into an enclosure, thus making it so that people can snag it off the RSS feed.

My last episode I did the exact same thing as before. Put a standard link (target to a blank page) in my entry. But the rss feed did not magically put an enclosure in.

I have poured through the help and 1. Not seen anything recent 2. Not really seen much of anything else for help in this.

    Thanks

So it’s not working for episode 4? Because I know when I add you into my Bloglines account, I get 1-3 fine but only a link for #4.

Hmm, I don’t see any difference between the post for #3 and the two posts for #4.

Let me drop a feedback and see if we can get someone to take a look at this for you.

Exactly. :) I can’t for any reason figure out why 1-3 were magically turned into enclosures but 4 was not. Wacky! Been trying to figure it out for a few days. I’m sure you saw where I posted something about it on the blog with a second link to episode 4, which was also not turned into a magical enclosure.

Probably computer programming being finiky. These things are worse than cats sometimes! Thanks for your help!

i was having the same problem. I had 13 mp3s and only 8 of them where showing up with enclosures. I even tried the feedburner but nothing helped. I starting looking through the xml code.

I was setting up the link to the mp3 which is magically turned into an enclosure, I would do the exact same thing and nothing, no magical enclosure. This took me a day and half, but I think I may have found something. The links I entered that weren’t working were contained in the description tag in the xml feed as cdata, not a true <a href link. this link was created through the main view tab. I opened the code tab and the link is transformed to <a href. So I am not sure if this did it because I also added a link to the mp3 in the option excerpt as well. but anyways now it seems that one of the missing mp3s now works in the podcast. I still need to test my theory out, but i am up from 8 to 9 of 13 mp3s

    Okay, i must be wrong

My theory worked for 2 links to mp3s, at least adding a link in the optional excerpt window seemed to work, but after one last night and fixing one this morning. this method seem to stop working when I went to fix all of the entries. So it would be nice to either have consistence of failure or of success. In all cases I used the same method to fix the problem, added a link in the entry and a link in the optional excerpt.
