Point subdomain to another host
-
Dear,
I’ve mapped this doamin to your website and now wanna to create and point a subdomain of “apply.the-krista.com” to host with the IP of “112.78.2.45”.
Is it right if I add a CNAME record “apply.the-krista.com alias of apply.the-krista.com” as I’ve tried this but it seem no work to me?
Of course I’ve created a document root on my host.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@thekristaapartment – Please have a look at the guide for mapping a subdomain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/#pointing-a-subdomain-of-a-domain-registered-or-mapped-with-wordpress-com-to-an-outside-website
According to the guide, you can’t point it to an IP address so what you enter should look something like: “apply alias of theothersite.com”.
If that doesn’t work, add “modlook” to the tags for this thread to let WordPress.com staff know that you need assistance with this issue.

You should be able to set up an A record for that subdomain to point to the IP address you need.
